Trial From Controversial Gay Bar Raid Begins

Circumcision May Not Cut HIV Spread Among Gay Men

Although studies in Africa have shown that circumcision can lower the spread of HIV among heterosexuals, it may not do much to prevent infections among gay and bisexual men in Western countries, a new study suggests. A number of studies in African nations have found that circumcised heterosexual men were up to 60 percent less likely than uncircumcised men to contract HIV during the study periods. Dozens Drop Washington Post Over Front-Page Gay Kiss

A photograph of two men kissing that ran on the front page of The Washington Post has caused at least two dozen people to cancel their subscriptions. The photo was taken last Wednesday, the day same-sex couples could apply for marriage licenses in Washington, and ran in the paper the next day. The paper’s ombudsman, Andrew Alexander, reported on his blog that 27 subscribers canceled their subscriptions, specifically citing the photo.
